The mountain region from the air

A silent 20-second drone clip shows the forested mountain region. It contains no audio, people or location metadata.

The distance

Mountain villages and secondary schools are not automatically within reach of one another.

The request

A family looked for a dependable place where their son could stay during the school week.

The everyday work

That request grew into a student home sustained by daily, practical work.

This mode connects three text moments to a silent 20-second original clip. With reduced motion, data saving or a small screen, the complete static version remains active.

Milestones with sources, not invented calendar dates

The documented project account explains how one request gradually grew into a student home. The timeline includes only statements supported by the project records or the dated owner update.

  1. A young couple married and bought land in the mountains of northern Thailand. They dug two fish ponds and used their wedding gifts to begin building a home of their own.

  2. While their own home remained unfinished, Dan and Susan moved into an empty building. It had previously provided accommodation for young people from mountain communities who needed to stay in the valley to attend secondary school.

  3. The first documented request was from a family seeking a dependable place to stay during the school week. Dan and Susan agreed, and the present student home developed from that first step.

  4. Other young people from the mountain communities later lived with Dan and Susan. The documented sources do not explain how each of them came to stay there.

  5. A long-standing acquaintance of Stefan Kluth in Chiang Mai learned about the student home, supported it regularly and, because the journey was long, asked Stefan to bring that support to the family. This is how Stefan came to know Dan, Susan and Baan Prasiri.

  6. The friend died at nearly ninety. Stefan decided to continue supporting the home.

  7. An early publicly documented item of practical support was a pair of goalkeeper gloves. A viewer covered the cost, and further support for the student home grew from that response.

  8. Later, the beds were replaced. The first frames were made from thin sheet metal and wore out; replacement frames were welded from steel tubing by one of the fathers.

  9. A fence followed, then drainage work, repairs and other purchases.

  10. There is exactly one external support route for the student home's ongoing costs. The linked Buy Me a Coffee account is reported as verified by the project owner, belongs to Dan and is intended for Baan Prasiri's ongoing costs. This website links to it but does not accept payments itself.

  11. Status as reported by the project owner on 21 September 2026: Dan continues to keep Baan Prasiri running day to day; reliable support remains important for the student home's ongoing operation.

  12. The external support route remains exclusively for the student home's ongoing costs. It is not a payment route for Dan's private home.
